The multipurposed KA-226 helicopter is the development of the KA-26 helicopter. The helicopter is equipped with the Allison 250C-20B engines of the Detroit Diesel Allison company with power capacity of 425 h.p. each. By the effectiveness of usage the helicopter is optimized to carry out a wide spectrum of aviation works in different natural-environmental conditions, including:

*as a transport vehicle for passenger and transport carriages;
*as a transport vehicle for urgent medical assistance;
*for using by the bodies of law and order to patrol the town zones, motor roads, and to fulfil some operative works;
*for using by subdivisions of the Ministry of extraordinary situations at carrying out search-rescue operations;
*to be used for patrolling of oil pipelines, lines of electro transmission, large tracts of forests and coastal areas;
*in combination with the suspendable equipment for spraying of the agricultural areas and large tracts of forests;
*to conduct aerophoto surveys;
*to carry out construction -installation works.
